Plagiarism and AI Policy

The Editors of the Journal of Music Theory Pedagogy (SCSS) are committed to selecting works that uphold ethical practices of scholarship. Plagiarism, duplication of previously published work, falsified data, or use of artificial intelligence (AI) to create manuscripts will result in an article’s rejection before the peer review process.

It is the author's responsibility to: 

• Disclose and describe the use of any AI in writing the manuscript text or generating ideas for the manuscript. Authors who use AI-assisted technologies (such as Large Language Models [LLMs], chatbots, or image creators) in their work must indicate how they were used directly in the submission. Any submission that is deemed to have been composed by AI will result in a rejection from the journal;
• Accept full responsibility for the text’s factual and citation accuracy and originality
• Ascertain that they have submitted an entirely original work with proper citations
